We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Kosovija. Lory and her family were perfect hosts and were available if there were any queries and were more than happy to help suggest some quiet beaches and local areas to explore. We were welcomed upon arrival with drinks, ice cream and some vegetables from the vegetable patch which was a lovely touch. The house itself was just as expected, very clean, spacious with a well equipped kitchen. A previous review mentioned that the Wifi was intermittent but we found this to be reliable and fast during our stay. The grounds of the house are a delight and the pictures can't really do justice to the beautiful surroundings. The veranda was lovely for eating outside and having a drink or two in the evening. Our children loved the outside space including the swing and football nets. We found Istria a beautiful area to explore. The house is a little off the beaten track and a car would certainly be advisable but the peacefulness of the surroundings made for a very relaxing time back at the house. We would very much recommend staying at Kosovija and we most certainly look to returning in the future. (Airbnb)

Enjoy the serene beauty of Istria at Kosovija!! We are so glad we decided to stay at Kosovija for part of our 5 nights in Istria in September. It was a welcome change from the overly-crowded (but beautiful) Rovinj. To give you an idea, it is only about a 10-15 minute drive from there to Hum, maybe about 35-40 minutes to Groznjan and the northern hill town area. A great location as a base for exploring or a place to just unwind. We felt instant relaxation the minute we arrived. The countryside where Kosovija is located is breathtaking. When you reach the narrow tree-lined road that leads to the house, you are thinking “where are we going”, then you pull up to a beautiful home surrounded by greenery, trees, gardens, views of country and mountains as far as your eyes can see. That is just the beginning! The home itself is gorgeous with very high-end finishes and comfortable furnishings and is shining clean. The Wi-Fi works perfectly if you can’t do without your gadgets. It’s surrounded by lovely grapevine covered patios with comfortable lounge chairs, tables for dining, even a chair swing in a giant tree! You can wander through the large gardens, olive grove or just walk along the road. There is also a huge grassy area perfect for kids to play on. Everything thing is impeccably maintained. Peaceful, quiet, comfortable! Our lovely host, Lory, went out of her way to meet and greet us with delicious cakes, cookies, homegrown figs and tomatoes, homemade grappa and wine. We chatted about our trip, food, wine and family and she left us with us maps, driving suggestions and tips to make our time spent the best possible. Our (too short) time spent in Kosovija is a very memorable part or out trip and we highly recommend staying there and soaking in the beauty of Istria! (source)

In juli hebben we een week in dit geweldige vakantiehuis, 'Kosovija', doorgebracht. Bij aankomst werden we heel gastvrij en warm ontvangen door de eigenaresse die heel goed Engels kan praten. We kregen een welkomsdrankje en ze liet ons het huis zien. We waren direct onder de indruk van het fantastische uitzicht en de mooie groene tuin vol bloemen. Voor de kinderen was er ontzettend veel ruimte. Er is een voetbalveldje inclusief twee goaltjes aanwezig waar onze jongens lekker konden voetballen. Er zijn hangmatten aanwezig en heerlijke ligstoelen. Er zijn ook voldoende plekken om lekker in de schaduw te zitten. Kortom je komt hier helemaal tot rust. Het huis ligt aan een klein afgelegen straatje met drie andere huizen. Het is een goede uitvalbasis om vanaf deze plek Istrie goed te leren kennen. Het binnenland is prachtig en je kan er heerlijk eten. Je bent ook snel bij de kust. In werkelijkheid is het huis nog mooier dan op de foto's, dus we raden het dan ook aan iedereen aan! Loved it here! Perfect location, great food, and wonderful hosts. This is an ideal central location for exploring Istria. It's a very peaceful and quiet place with a nice panorama. There is a vineyard on the property and beautiful lavender fields. The owners make their own wine so be sure to ask them about it! The hosts are really wonderful people and make excellent Mediterranean cuisine. They are willing to help with anything you need and can speak English, Italian, and Croatian. It's great place for families, friends, or if you simply want to come by yourself and enjoy some beautiful nature. I came several times both by myself and once with my family. Thank you so much for the lovely stay, we enjoyed ourselves here very much.We have been to many countries and have stayed in amazing places but yours is one of the very best. The location is superb. The hilltowns and twisty narrow roads are so charming. It is a place we would love to live! It is going to be very difficult for us to leave here as we have fallen in love with Istria!
